In fact, part of stainless iron has both rust resistance and acid resistance. The rust resistance and corrosion resistance of stainless iron are due to the formation of chromium rich oxide film on its surface. This rust resistance and corrosion resistance are relative. Therefore, stainless steel coils and stainless iron coils are obviously different.
There are many kinds of stainless steel coils, among which the magnetic ones are called stainless iron. In fact, they also belong to stainless steel. Now the classification of stainless steel coils is simple. Stainless steel coils are generally classified from intergranular structure and are divided into five categories. Commonly used stainless steel coils have the following:
1.Austenitic stainless steel: stainless steel with austenitic structure at room temperature. When the steel contains about 18% Cr, 8%~10% Ni and 0.1% C, it has stable austenite structure.
2.Austenitic chromium nickel stainless steel includes the famous 18Cr-8Ni steel and the high Cr Ni series steel developed by increasing the content of Cr and Ni and adding Mo, Cu, Si, Nb, Ti and other elements. Austenitic stainless steel is nonmagnetic and has high toughness and plasticity, but its strength is low. It cannot be strengthened by phase transformation, but only by cold working. If s, CA, Se, TE and other elements are added, it has good machinability.
In addition to the corrosion resistance of oxidizing acid medium, this kind of steel can also resist the corrosion of sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, urea, etc. if it contains Mo, Cu and other elements. If the carbon content in this kind of steel is less than 0.03% or contains Ti and Ni, its intergranular corrosion resistance can be significantly improved. High silicon austenitic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance with concentrated nitric acid. Austenitic stainless steel has been widely used in all walks of life because of its comprehensive and good comprehensive properties.

There are dust containing other metal elements or attachments of dissimilar metal particles on the surface of stainless steel coils. In the humid air, the condensate between the attachments and stainless steel connects them into a micro battery, causing electrochemical reaction and damaging the protective film, which is called electrochemical corrosion. Organic juices (such as melons and vegetables, noodle soup, phlegm, etc.) adhere to the surface of stainless steel coils, which constitute organic acids in the presence of water and oxygen. For a long time, organic acids will corrode the metal surface.
The surface of stainless steel coil contains acid, alkali and salt substances (such as alkali water and lime water splashing on the decoration wall), causing local corrosion. When stainless steel coils are in polluted air (such as atmosphere containing a large amount of sulfide, carbon oxide and nitrogen oxide), they encounter condensed water and form sulfuric acid, nitric acid and acetic acid liquid points, causing chemical corrosion. For example, there will be salt in the air near the sea, so the environment is more prone to rust.
